London, England, Part 1

After an amazing 7 weeks in Glasgow and Scotland, it was time to head back. The medical elective part of the trip was complete and we headed down to London and the rest of our holiday before heading back home.

London is a truly amazing city and I could definitely see myself living there when I grow up (yes I still young). On insistence from Steph, we went and visited Camden Town, a place packed with markets, crazy stalls and vintage stores (pretty much heaven for Steph).

We then headed over to Greenwich, definitely a place worth seeing if you’re ever in London. It’s definitely not the most touristy place in London, but that’s definitely a good thing. Take the light rail from the city centre out to the Docklands and walk the km or so to the top of the hill and you’ll find an observatory which pays tribute to astronomy and time, after all that is where Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) originated from. There are quite a few good restaurants nearby as well if you get hungry. The Cutty Sark nearby is also worth visiting. They rebuilt the base of the ship into a museum of sorts and most of the original ship remains. A quick visit into town for dinner with our friends and then watching Billy Elliott in the West End!
